Organic Listings
What is an Organic Listing or Natural Search
Organic listings are those search engine position results shown by engines
like Google, MSN and Yahoo, using their own proprietary algorithms to
determine search position ranks for websites. These are also referred to as
Natural Search or Free Search results. These results are based on the merit
of the content of the pages and also on external recommendations (determined
by external links that point to the pages of this website). These results
are not listed based on any payment to the search engines and are hence
referred to as free search listings.
Building pages for Organic Listing for better Search engine position
To obtain a good organic search engine position , your website has to be
very relevant for the search term (keyword) typed by the seeker of
information in a search engine. The "relevance" of your web page is, of
course decided by the Search Engine. There are a few techniques we employ to
get the search engines to index your site and also obtain better search
engine positions for the keywords that we carefully research and select.
There are three major components for Organic Listing
The Key phrases: For better search engine position, we research and
select key phrases based on a detailed analysis of demand vs. competition
for those key phrases. The key phrases have to be popular yet not very
competitive, in order to get a good organic listing.
Page Optimization: Organic Listing is a lot about doing a good job
with your website content. Once your keywords for pages have been
determined, we design your on page content and the meta-tags. Using these
key phrases in the Page title, Description tags, the header tags, image ALT
tags and throughout the body content, we create a page that is keyword rich.
Ample care is taken to ensure that the content that is ultimately shown to
the human-reader does not appear "artificially" flooded with key phrases and
provides them with a pleasant and informative reading experience.
Inbound Links: Search engine positions are also determined by the
relevance of external web pages linking to you. The number of links, the
anchor text used in those links, and the source of these links are all
factors that impact your organic listing for the targeted search terms. We
carefully select a variation of key phrases for the anchor text and relevant
websites with good page ranks. We qualify potential link partners based on
the quality of their sites and certain predetermined criteria that varies
from campaigns to campaigns.
Optimizing for major search engines
It is important to rank well in Google, Yahoo, and MSN, plus some of the
smaller or more vertically targeted engines. You need to study and
understand the latest practices employed by these search engines and build a
strategy to implement most recommendations that would help your site rank
better on all three. You must keep in mind that after optimizing your site
for organic listings, each of these search engines will determine your sites
relevance based on its own algorithm. Therefore, your site may never show up
in the same position on different search engines. Similarly, once you
optimize and submit your site, different engines take different amounts of
time before they can actually index your site. We have experience of
optimizing for these major search engines. Our customer benefits from the
continuous research and involvement in search forums with industry experts
that helps us keep abreast of all developments and trends in the search
media.
Monitoring search engine positions
It is very important to monitor the search engine positions on a regular
basis. The search position for pages optimized for their respective key
phrases keep changing with time. This is because search engines are
themselves constantly changing their algorithms. Even your competition is
continuously trying to get better listings on organic search. To add to
this, there are newer companies who discover these keywords and optimize
their site pages for those keywords.
Though Organic listing seems to be a complex subject, when done well, you
will get heaps of free and relevant traffic to your site. And if you
maintain your search positions well, you have a continuous and free flow of
lead coming to your site. Its certainly an investment worth making. |
